Saint John River

This is a photo of a stretch of the 673 km long St. John River above Fredericton, New Brunswick. The river, known as the Wolastoq (bountiful and good) by the Maliseet, received its European name from Samuel de Champlain in 1604 who visited the mouth of the river where it flows into the Bay of Fundy at Saint John, the city where I was born.
